How to request and receive material (Elementary Secondary)
AERO is a repository of alternate format materials.
A search of outside databases is performed if the material is not available in the repository and arrangements are made to borrow the material from other provincial libraries.
AERO may purchase material from producers in Canada and the United States or have the book transcribed into an alternate format or arrange to borrow the material from other provincial libraries.
If the book is not available in the format requested, AERO requires the school advisor (contact) to send in a print copy of the book.
Each student and advisor must be registered with AERO prior to using our services. Use the on-line book request form to order. See How to Apply for services to view this registration process.
Materials required for students must be ordered by the advisor. Please note that materials are sent to the advisor and not sent directly to individual students. Materials are loaned free of charge for the school year. Books that are not returned at the end of the school year may be invoiced for replacement costs. Books that are downloaded must be deleted from the storage site at school and deleted under the student's holdings at the end of the school year.
Loaned books are the responsibility of the school concerned and materials must be returned by the end of the school year for which they have been borrowed.
Loaned titles including downloads can be renewed for another school year.
